The Howler
A roaming hostile that emits a loud shriek upon detection, then pursues the player's last known position in a direct linear path.
Algorithmic behavior
Roams via a heuristic pathfinding mesh until auditory or visual aggro thresholds are met. Upon aggro, triggers a specialized spatial audio file (the "howl") before committing to a direct pursuit vector.
Evasion strategy
Break line-of-sight immediately upon detection. Exploit the non-Euclidean maze geometry to force inefficient intercept routes. On Nightmare difficulty its velocity is near-terminal - the Olympic Runner gamepass is statistically required.
